SELF-PORTRAIT OF VINCENT VAN GOGH BY JUAN BARAHONA

We have a self-portrait of Vincent van Gogh in 1889. It is a sample of the Post-Impressionist painting. It is currently in the Musée d'Orsay, Paris, Francia .The work shows us the author, in good form after suffering a serious health crisis shortly before. However, his eyes show that he is full of concerns and problems. Van Gogh employs a very personal technique for painting the background, costume and hair: lines wavy blue (background and costume) and oranges (hair); In contrast to this, there are marked much lines in other areas such as the eyes. In this self-portrait, in short, raw expression of character and emotions/concerns. Van Gogh is characterized by infusing a great symbolism to its work by means of color and line. Among his works we emphasize "The starry night", his self-portraits and "Bedroom of van Gogh".This work belongs to the impressionism. This art is based on the search of feelings, is trying to capture in the works.
